Hummingbirds

We used to have grass in our front yard. We spent a lot of time and money on lawn maintenance. Gasoline powered mowers, edgers, and blowers are noisy and pollute the environment.

We decided to change to low maintenance landscaping that is environmentally friendly. We killed the grass and covered it with mulch. Then, we planted drought tolerant California native plants that do not require fertilizer or pesticides. We chose plants with lots of flowers that attract hummingbirds.

Now, we spend much less time working in our yard. We spend more time relaxing, smelling the flowers, and watching the hummingbirds.
