Snails and slugs are annoying pests that devour your plants. There are several non-toxic ways to get rid of these critters.
Iron phosphate can be purchased at the hardware store in the pest control section. The label should say safe for pets and wildlife. Snails and slugs are attracted to the iron phosphate, which stops them from feeding on your plants. Ingesting the iron phosphate kills the snails and slugs in a few days. Iron phosphate also fertilizes your garden.
Snails are attracted to flat beer. You can place a few bowls of flat beer in the garden. Snails and slugs will drown in the bowls.
Some people do not want to kill the snails. If this is the case, you can water thoroughly in the evening. Then, hand pick the snails and relocate them.
