Cut Christmas Trees are dead and dry by Christmas. These trees can be expensive. They can also be a fire hazard.
Consider purchasing a Christmas Tree that is alive and growing in a pot. Living Christmas trees smell wonderful. If you transplant your tree into a larger pot, you can use the same tree for several years. You will save time, money, and fuel.
When your tree starts bursting out of the pot, you can plant it in your yard, or give it away.

For those of us who live in cities, are there organizations that we can donate our living tree to so that it may be planted (in an effort to decrease our carbon footprint during the holidays)?
